MINUTES of the Meeting held in the Committee Room, Swale House, East Street, Sittingbourne on Thursday 21st April 2011 from 10:00 am to 10.46 am.

Present: Mr Robert Nunn (Chairman and Independent Member) and Parish Councillors Ken Ingleton and John Mills.

RESOLVED:

(1) That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

review of complaint no. sbc 009/11

The Sub-Committee determined that this matter should be referred to the Monitoring Officer to investigate whether there had been a breach of the Code of Conduct.

RESOLVED:

(1) That the complaint be referred to the Monitoring Officer for investigation.

(2) That all Members of the Parish Council should receive training regarding their roles, responsibilities and the conduct of parish council meetings.

The Sub-Committee determined that this matter should be referred to the Monitoring Officer to investigate whether there had been a breach of the Code of Conduct.

adjournment of meeting

During consideration of the above item the Sub-Committee adjourned at 10.30 am to open and adjourn the Standards Appeals Sub-Committee, which it was agreed would start at the conclusion of the Standards Referrals Sub-Committee. The meeting recommenced at 10.31 am.

review of complaint no. sbc 011/11

The Sub-Committee determined that on the information supplied by the complainant, there was no evidence to identify a potential breach of the Code of Conduct and, therefore, no further action is to be taken with regard to the complaint.

RESOLVED:

(1) That no further action be taken on the complaint.
